Quality ag education provides a path for today's young people to meet the challenges
that lie ahead in food and agriculture. As college costs continue to grow, the people
at National Farmers want to assist students with our national Farm Kids for College
Scholarship.
The competition is open to high school seniors who plan to pursue agriculture-related
degrees from accredited colleges or universities.
Based on competitive selection, judges choose three national scholarship winners
in the spring of each year. All three winners receive $1,000 each. This is a non-renewable,
freshman scholarship.
In addition to completing the Farm Kids for College application, students show off
their knowledge and imagination by writing two brief essays covering special, designated
topics. Students must also submit two letters of reference.
Download the application form and related materials for all the details and rules.
We urge you to carefully review the scholarship packet you download. (See below.)
When you have completed the requirements for the scholarship, please submit everything
to the coordinator for your state by March 7, 2013. (Coordinator information is
included in the file to download.)
If you've earned a scholarship, we'll let you know April 16, 2013! We wish you the
best.
